New Motion City Soundtrack… um, FUCK YES.

Hello Internet,
I heard through the grapevine that the highly anticipated Motion City Soundtrack album “Go” was leaked on the World Wide Web. Now, do not get me wrong, I LOVE MCS! I’ve been waiting (as patiently as I can) for the release date…checking Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and every other website for any news on Go. But dear Internet, what you do not realize is that it is being released on June 12th. It is marked on my home, work, computer, and phone calendars! This is a very important date. On June 12, 2012, I will be able to listen to GO in its entirety. I will play the entire album on repeat throughout the entire day: on my morning commute, at work, at the gym, at home before I go to sleep. I will probably continue to listen to it all the way through June 15th when I will be going with my best friend, Nadia to see Motion City Soundtrack at the Troubadour. Nadia & I will most likely email each other during that week to discuss our favorite tracks, the memorable lyrics (because I’m addicted to words and they’re useless), and just about everything about this album, since this is our ritual of awesomeness. So, Mr. Internet/Ms. Internet…To Whom It May Concern…do not take this away from us. We are fans! We are loyal admirers of Motion City Soundtrack. They mean so much to all of us!! Don’t ruin this…don’t take away this one thing we have to look forward to.
I ask of you PEOPLE of the internet, don’t listen to the leaked album if you have access to it. Give Motion City Soundtrack the respect they deserve. They’ve given us so much over the last decade, the least we can do is have some patience and wait for the actual release date. If you are so eager to listen, buy True Romance and Timelines! They are FANTASTIC!! If you haven’t listened to them on a daily basis, you are missing out.
Make sure that you preorder GO on Epitaph, Amazon, iTunes, or here!
Sincerely Yours,
Estela
P.S. Thank you, Tumblr for allowing my random rant of the day.

We are the sixth and final band in the Making Moves series.

EDIT:  Just a note of clarification.  This video clip with the music is not from our new LP.  We promise, we will announce that information soon!

This is from the collaboration series we announced last week called “Making Moves”, a series of singles that we have personally produced and curated of five emerging bands, and will release on our The Boombox Generation label with Drexel University’s Mad Dragon Records.

We have recorded a single for this series as well, and this video shows footage and has audio from the recording sessions that we did at Drexel this January.

Track back to our original post

Thanks!

Yours Truly,

Motion City Soundtrack

As most of you beloved fans know, we launched our very own record label The Boombox Generation this past fall with the limited edition vinyl 7” release of our cover of Trampled By Turtles “Wait So Long” and their cover of our song “Disappear”.

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes…

The men of Motion City Soundtrack at Matt Taylor’s wedding! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Taylor! I love these costumes so much!
I definitely want a costume wedding now! Thinking of being either the Corpse Bride or the Princess Bride…I have tons of time to think about that.
